Delhi High Court slaps ₹2 lakh fine on Bharat Pe's former MD Ashneer Grover for unparliamentary posts
Delhi High Court fines Ashneer Grover ₹2 lakh for unparliamentary posts against Bharat Pe, notwithstanding assurances. The court allows Bharat Pe to stop Grover from defaming.
According to Hindustan Times, Ashneer Grover, who was once the Managing Director and co-founder of Bharat Pe, was fined ₹2 lakh by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday for sharing inappropriate posts about the organization, even though he had previously promised the court that he would refrain from doing so.
According to HT, the court turned down Bharat Pe's request to ban Ashneer Grover from publishing libellous material. Grover has apologized for his behavior and promised not to share anything again, so this judgment is based on his word alone.
The parent company of BharatPe, Resilient Innovations, filed a fresh petition in the Delhi High Court earlier on November 24. The company claims that Ashneer Grover divulged "confidential information" about the company. According to the Economic Times' story from November 24th, the case is requesting a preliminary injunction.
Shared on platform X last week was information about the allocation of stock and secondary components in BharatPe's Series E investment round, which the company's co-founder Ashneer Grover is currently encountering difficulties with.
With the help of the Dragoneer Investor group and other backers, Tiger Global led the $370 million funding round, which valued BharatPe at $2.86 billion.
Nevertheless, Grover deleted the tweet a while later.
Earlier, Ashneer Grover was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police over an alleged fraud case.
Eight HR consulting firms have ties to Grover's wife Madhuri Jain's family, according to a status report from the EOW. This development followed that.
