HP launches new Omen and Victus laptops and expands its gaming range.
HP led India's PC market in 2022 with 30.2%.It fell 3.8% year-over-year. Dell Technologies (25.2%) and Lenovo (18.9%) are other Indian PC and laptop manufacturers.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the American multinational corporation HP introduced its newest lineup of Omen and Victus laptops, which it says will increase the company's gaming portfolio.
The OMEN Transcend 16, OMEN 16, and the Victus 16 are all new laptops in the line.
Indian youngsters have taken to PC gaming at an unprecedented rate, making their country a global powerhouse in the industry. According to Vickram Bedi, Senior Director (Personal Systems), HP India, "HP is enhancing and expanding a world-class ecosystem of hardware and software with its new portfolio, designed to empower gamers and deliver the best experiences whether they are gaming, creating, or connecting.In the Indian personal computer market, HP holds a 30.2% share in 2022. However, it was down 3.8% from the previous year. Dell Technologies, with a 25.2% market share, and Lenovo, with an 18.9% market share, are two other major participants in the Indian personal computer and laptop market.
There has been a downward trend in laptop sales over the past several quarters, but the new releases may give a stimulus and help recover some of the lost market share and income. According to preliminary estimates from IDC, worldwide shipments of laptops were 56.9 million in the first quarter of 2023, down 29% from the same period a year earlier.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2023, HP and its subsidiaries reported net revenue of $13.8 billion, down 18.8 percent year over year.
HP works hard to ensure that its products are desirable to both professional gamers who wish to live stream their tournaments and mobile gamers who require a more portable gaming experience.
HP has created Omen playgrounds, a gaming community where players can interact and play games only on HP hardware.
According to the 'State of India Gaming Report 2022' by AWS and Lumikai, the number of Indian esports players increased from 150,000 in 2021 to 600,000 in 2022, and is predicted to increase by 2.5 times over the following five years.
