Industrialist Ratan Tata to get Maharashtra govt's first 'Udyog Ratna' award
Samant announced this Thursday at the state legislative council, along with awards for young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and Marathi entrepreneurs.
State Industries minister Uday Samant said that Ratan Tata, a seasoned business leader and the current chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, will be the recipient of the inaugural 'Udyog Ratna' award bestowed by the Maharashtra government.
Samant announced the awarding of honours for young entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs, and Marathi entrepreneurs in the state legislative council on Thursday.
On Thursday, the state government announced that they will be bestowing the Udyog Ratna honour upon Ratan Tata, in the same vein as the Maharashtra Bhushan award, which is given to eminent citizens.
He stated that he, as industries minister, was part of a committee that included Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, as well as the Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde.
